My name is Guy Macpherson. I am a husband, father, brother, and a psychologist. I specialize in the treatment of trauma and early psychosis. My passion is raising the awareness of trauma and helping trauma therapists thrive.

I do this by helping trauma clinicians engage more effectively and deeply with their clients by:

For the last six years I have dedicated myself to the study of trauma psychology, trauma therapy, post-traumatic growth, and most recently, the intersection of trauma and psychosis, specifically the signs of early psychosis.

Nicole Marcia, MA, ERYT 500 has taught therapeutic yoga classes and offered individual sessions to trauma survivors struggling with trauma and addiction since 2004.

She also trains yoga teachers and clinicians in the trauma-sensitive yoga theory and techniques required to support trauma survivors in their healing, long-term stability and recovery.

In 2009, Nicole was awarded a master’s degree with a specialization in yoga therapy from Lesley University in Boston, MA. Since then, she has been employed by the Provincial Health Services Association at their Burnaby Centre for Mental Health and Addictions.

She serves as the director of training at Yoga Outreach, is a faculty member at Ajna Yoga and the Vancouver School of Yoga and a curriculum developer and instructor the Langara College Continuing Studies.

She teaches at Onsite, the treatment arm of North America’s first safe injection site and is a member of Bridge for Health and the Breathe Network which connects survivors of sexual violence with healing arts practitioners.

Monique Danielle is a Yoga Educator, Trauma Survivor, Student of Trauma-Focused Experiential Therapies, and the Founder of the Vivasana Center in Naples, Florida.

Monique and the Vivasana faculty offer a truly unique Psychologically-Informed™, Trauma-Aware, Residential Yoga Teacher Program which emphasizes cross-discipline collaboration and cooperation and focuses on empowering people to reach trauma survivors, people in recovery, and military vets.

Monique set the organization up to offer need-based partial tuition scholarships for low-income individuals, as well as full tuition scholarships for spouses of active duty military personnel.

Monique has also created and manages a successful yoga program for the Naples Shelter for Abused Women, contracts with Humana’s Corporate Wellness Division, and teaches for the county school district and government complex. She seeks to partner with forward thinking treatment centers and behavioral health professionals.

Athena Phillips is the owner of Integrative Trauma Treatment Center in Portland, OR and Vancouver Integrative Counseling in Vancouver, WA. She continues to practice out of her Portland location and provides professional trainings on the subjects of Trauma and Dissociative Disorders locally and nationally.

Athena has worked in social services in some capacity for over 20 years, and has been a practicing therapist for 10 of those years. She was in solo private practice for 5 years prior to opening her group practices; it was during this time that her specialization in trauma and dissociation became her focus. Her group practice offers integrative, progressive care that includes psychotherapy, support groups, medication management, acupuncture and massage from a prism of honor, hope and reverence.

Amy Sugeno, LCSW, got her start as a wildlife biologist, studying a variety of species, mostly birds and bats. Over those 16 years, she consistently noticed how healing and restorative nature and the outdoors can be for people.

Now a therapist, Amy integrates ecotherapy, or nature-based therapies, into the healing process of her clients. She has worked at nonprofit agencies for the past 10 years with adults and older teens affected by domestic violence and sexual abuse. More recently, Amy has opened a small private practice in Marble Falls, Texas, where she provides ecotherapy to individuals and small groups, and particularly enjoys working with issues around adoption and attachment trauma.

Debbie Seldon has been working with children, adolescents and families for the past 12 years, specializing in working with trauma and sexual abuse survivors and breaking the abuse cycle.

Debbie has experience working with a variety of cultural groups and religious backgrounds and was previously based in Western-Sydney working as a child sexual assault counselor though for the past five years has been operating in Bondi Junction in her private practice.

Manuela Mischke-Reeds, MA, MFT is a licensed Somatic Psychotherapist. She is an International teacher of Psychology and trains health professionals in California, Australia, New Zealand, Israel and Europe and starting in China next year.

Manuela co-directs and teaches at the Hakomi Institute of California that hosts her Trauma training: From Trauma to Dharma. (starts again in April 2016) This training integrates current Neuroscience of Trauma Theory, Somatic and Mindfulness based Interventions with Dharmic Teachings and embodied Meditation Practices.

In addition Manuela has trained in various methods of working with trauma (e.g.Somatic Experiencing) and counseled survivors of political oppression, torture and trauma for the past 25 years. Her recent book: 8 Keys to Practicing Mindfulness. Practical strategies for emotional Health and Wellbeing, has been published by by W.W. Norton. (2015)

Karla Helbert is a licensed professional counselor (LPC), a Compassionate Bereavement Care® provider certified through the MISS Foundation and the Elisabeth Kubler-Ross Family Trust, and a certified yoga instructor.

Karla’s psychotherapy practice has a focus on loss, grief and bereavement, working in particular with those affected by trauma and traumatic death.

Karla’s therapeutic approach is eclectic, drawing on existential, experiential and person-centered approaches. She uses non-traditional therapeutic modalities including trauma focused psychoeducation, mindfulness, meditation and yoga based therapy, breath work, expressive arts, ritual and logotherapy. Karla is a certified yoga instructor with Integral Yoga® and has training in Integrated Movement Therapy ™ a holistic therapy approach using yoga’s philosophical, spiritual and physical framework to address the needs of a whole person. She is also a reiki practitioner and aromatherapist, and uses these modalities in individual ways with clients as well in her own personal practices to support and address spiritual and emotional needs.

Ryan Van Wyk is a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in St. Louis Park and St. Paul, Minnesota.  He is the founder of  MN Trauma Project, an organization that aims to increase accessibility to trauma informed care in the state of MN and that is moving towards non-profit status.

Ryan is a Captain and behavioral health officer in the MN Army National Guard. He currently works full time for the Melrose Center, an eating disorders treatment center, where he is one of the lead therapists in a co-occurring disorders program treating eating disorders and substance use disorders.
